The farm is situated in the village of Vingelen, one of the country district in Norway best taken care of.
Utistu Aasen offer accomodation in different traditional houses and nice surrondings for outdoor activities.
Vingelen is situated next to Forollhogna National Park and in 2008 Vingelen become a National Park Village.
The World Heritige site Røros is only a short drive away. Sometimes called a living museum,
the old mining town is famous for all its well preserved architecture.
In the mountains of Vingelen your chances of meeting reindeer are good, and in the woods we have a lots of moose and deer.
Some of the farmers still stay at their mountain farms in the summertime with their cows.
The district has lot of possibilities for outdoor life, such as flyfishing in the river Glomma or fishing in
small lakes or rivers, skiing in the winter-time, picking mushroom in the autoumn or just walking
in the nice mountain areas.
The farm Utistu Aasen is an old farm which have been owned by the same family since the
1600-century. The farm has a lot of old houses and we rent out 3 of them. All these houses are made
from wooden logs.
One of the houses is situated at the farm and is called Sommerstua. It has a high standard. It is fully equipped with a big kitchen, bathroom, washing-machine and an extra toilet upstairs. There are 3 bedrooms, two upstair with
a total of 7 beds and one downstairs with a double-bed and a single bed. The living-room has a fireplace
and a television.
The two other houses for rent are situated high up in the mountains, located at Storøya just next to Forollhogna National Park. The houses have earlier been a mountain-farm used from the middle of August to the beginning of
October. The houses can be rented together or separate. They have 7 and 6 beds. There is no electrisity,
fresh water in a small brook, gas for cooking,
and a toilet outside. Bring your sleeping bag.
